The Administrative Specialist position pays $17.26/hour (non-negotiable) and is based on USM’s Portland Campus. Standard hours are 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Bi-annual residencies (in January and June) present opportunities for light overtime work. Flexible scheduling and work-from-home options available for the right candidate.
USM’s Stonecoast Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Program in Creating Writing connects emerging writers with award-winning authors to create a uniquely inclusive and challenging low-residency MFA.
The Adminstrative Specialist is the primary liason between the Stonecoast MFA program and the larger USM community. This person performs a wide variety of duties in support of daily operations, including communication, records maintenance, and participating on special projects.
The ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and work independently and in a team environment while maintaining attention to detail are essential. The successful candidate will be well-organized and possess excellent written, phone and verbal communication skills. The Department utilizes various data systems and web platforms and requires someone with the ability to navigate such systems.
