The University of Southern Maine is seeking applicants for a full-time Administrative Specialist CL1 in Registration and Scheduling Services.  

The work performed in Registration and Scheduling Services is critical to the University’s service to its students, staff and faculty. From student enrollment processes, to class schedule maintenance, to the proper recording of grades and rankings, the registrar's office underpins the successful functioning of the University. The Administrative Specialist CL1 performs administrative and clerical work requiring general and broad procedural knowledge and organizational skills.  This position involves considerable internal and external contacts, as well as handling verbal and written communications for a broad range of questions and audiences. This position will support our year-round registration processes, front-facing office communication channels, and student records requests. The ability to work as part of a team is essential. Our team strives to provide exemplary customer service while maintaining confidentiality and a welcoming demeanor. The ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and to prioritize will be beneficial. A diverse work environment with intermittent to frequent interruptions is not uncommon.  Judgment and initiative are frequently exercised and work is typically performed under specific instruction.

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and sufficient experience, including one year administrative support experience. 
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.
  • Good communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Customer service experience.
  • Peoplesoft exposure (detailed knowledge not required).
  • Microsoft Office/Google Suite experience.
